Change fonts and colors in Mail

You can set the default fonts and font sizes for composing and viewing messages and notes in Mail, and for distinguishing quoted text when replying to or forwarding messages.

  1. Choose Mail > Preferences, and then click Fonts & Colors.
  2. Click the Select button next to each font field to select fonts and font sizes.
  3. Choose other options for using the selected fixed-width font for plain text messages, and using colors to distinguish quoted text in messages.

For more information about the options in the Fonts & Colors pane, click the Help button in the pane.

If your recipients don’t have the same fonts that you selected, similar fonts are substituted.
