OS X Lion: Install Windows 7 on your Mac
You can install Windows 7 on your Mac using Boot Camp Assistant.
To install and set up Windows on a Mac with Mac OS X version 10.7, you need:
A USB keyboard and mouse, or a built-in keyboard and trackpad
The latest firmware updates installed
At least 10 GB of free space on the disk you’re installing on
A built-in optical disc drive or an external optical drive connected directly to your computer
A licensed copy of Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate
- Back up the important information on your computer.
- Open Boot Camp Assistant (located in the Utilities folder in Launchpad).
- Print and follow the instructions in the “Boot Camp Installation & Setup Guide.”
To install Windows using Boot Camp, you must be logged in as an administrator of your computer.
