OS X Lion: Create a copy of your iDisk

Create a copy of your iDisk

Your iDisk is personal storage space on MobileMe’s Internet servers. You can create a copy of your iDisk on your computer so that you can make changes to it at any time, even when you’re not connected to the Internet.

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click MobileMe.
  2. If necessary, sign in to MobileMe.
  3. Click the iDisk tab.
  4. In the iDisk Sync section, click Start. You can select to sync automatically or manually.
  5. Close MobileMe preferences.

With iDisk Sync turned on, an iDisk icon appears on your desktop, in the sidebar in Finder windows, and in the Save dialog when you save documents. You can use your iDisk even when you’re not connected to the Internet.

If you change your iDisk storage amount, your local iDisk is resized automatically.

Changes you make to the iDisk on your computer are synced with your iDisk on the MobileMe website while you’re connected to the Internet.
