Turn Sticky Keys and Mouse Keys on or off

If you use Sticky Keys and Mouse Keys only occasionally, you can enable keyboard shortcuts to easily turn them on or off. The shortcuts work with your computer’s keyboard and with Keyboard Viewer.

  1. Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, and then click Universal Access.
  2. Enable the keyboard shortcuts:
    • For Sticky Keys, click Keyboard and select the “Press the Shift key five times to turn Sticky Keys on or off” checkbox.

    • For Mouse Keys, click Mouse (Mouse & Trackpad on some computers) and select the “Press the Option key five times to turn Mouse Keys on or off” checkbox.
