iPhoto for iOS (iPad): Use photos in other apps

Use photos in other apps

You can use photos from iPhoto in other apps on your iOS device or on your computer.

  • Use your photos in other apps—such as Cards and iMovie—installed on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You can open a photo directly in another app that supports iPhoto, or you can save a photo to the Camera Roll so it’s available for use in any app on your device.

  • Import photos from your device to iPhoto or Aperture on your computer. (If you have an iCloud account and set up Photo Stream, photos you save to the Camera Roll are automatically sent to your iPhoto and Aperture libraries on your Mac.)

  • Save photos to your computer’s hard disk using iTunes.

Note:   If you import RAW-format photos, you can edit them in iPhoto, the edits are applied to the embedded JPEG file and the original RAW-format photo remains unchanged.
