If you have a MobileMe subscription or MobileMe Free Account, you can use MobileMe Find My iPhone to help you locate your lost iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. You can use Find My iPhone to:

  • Display your device’s approximate location on a map

  • Send your device a message or make it play a sound

  • Lock your device remotely

  • Erase your device remotely

Important:   To use Find My iPhone, you need to set up the device before it’s lost. The Find My iPhone app requires iOS 3.1.3 or later (iOS 4.3 recommended). Devices you’re trying to find need to have iOS 3.1.3 or later (on devices of MobileMe subscribers), or iOS 4.2 or later (on devices of free account users).

To access Find My iPhone from a computer:

  • Go to me.com/find and sign in using your Apple ID email address and password.

    If you’re a subscriber and are already signed in to another application at me.com, click the MobileMe Cloud button MobileMe Cloud button in the upper left (or press Shift–Esc on your keyboard), and then click Find My iPhone in the app switcher that appears.

  • If you’ve already moved your MobileMe account to iCloud, go to icloud.com/find and sign in to the Find My iPhone application there.

You can also use the free Find My iPhone app on any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in your possession to locate one of your other devices. To get started, download Find My iPhone from the iTunes Store on your computer or the App Store on your device.
