Create a slideshow

You can create a slideshow of your photos and view it at any time. To create a slideshow, you can first select the photos you want to use in it, or start a slideshow in Projects view and select the photos from there.

Create a slideshow from selected photos

  1. Tap two or more photos or video clips, an album, or an event, and tap Share button.

  2. Tap Slideshow.

  3. Confirm or change the photos you want to include in the slideshow:

    • Continue with the photos you selected: Tap Selected.

    • Create a slideshow of your flagged photos: Tap Flagged.

    • Create a slideshow of all the photos in the thumbnail grid: Tap All.

    • Select a different photo or multiple photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap each photo, and tap Next.

    • Select a different range of photos: Tap Choose Photos, tap Range, tap the first and last photos in the range, and tap Next.

  4. Do one of the following:

    • Create a new slideshow from the selected photos: Tap New Slideshow.

    • Add the selected photos to an existing slideshow: Tap the name of the slideshow under Slideshows.

  5. Tap Show. Tap the Play button to view the slideshow immediately, or tap Done.

    To view slideshow controls, tap a slide while the slideshow is playing. To open and view your slideshow later, tap Projects. To rename your slideshow, touch and hold the slideshow and tap Rename.

Create a slideshow from Projects view

  1. Tap Projects.

  2. Tap Share button.

  3. Tap Slideshow.

  4. To select the photos you want in the slideshow, tap Share button > Photo.

  5. Tap Photos, Collections, or Projects.

    You can tap albums, libraries, events, and projects to open them.

  6. Tap a photo you want to add.

Your new slideshow appears in Projects. To rename your slideshow, touch and hold the slideshow and then tap Rename.

View a slideshow

  1. Tap Projects and tap a slideshow to open it.

  2. Tap the Play button to start the slideshow.

    While the slideshow is playing, tap a slide to display the slideshow controls. Swipe left or right to move from slide to slide.

To stop the slideshow, tap to show the controls, and tap the Pause button. To exit a slideshow, tap a slide, then tap Share button.

Change slideshow options

  1. Tap Projects and tap a slideshow to open it.

  2. Tap Gear (Action) button to open the slideshow options.

    Tap Music to use a song other than the theme music included with iPhoto
  3. Do any of the following:

    • Change the slideshow's theme: Tap a theme.

    • Play music while the slideshow plays: Tap to turn on Play Music, then tap Music.

      iPhoto comes with a collection of theme music; to choose one of those songs, tap the theme music you want. To select a song on your device, tap My Music and select a song.

    • Change the speed of the slideshow: Drag the Slideshow Speed slider.

  4. Tap Done.
