Update or delete a Calendar event

If you created an event, you can change any of its settings.

If you were invited to an event, you can change only the calendar it belongs to, your status, alerts, and attached files (with permission).

Event setting How to change it

Time or day

Drag the event to the new time or day.

Duration

In Day or Week view, drag the event’s top or bottom edge.

If the event is an all-day event, in Week view, drag the event’s left or right side.

Name

Double-click the event, click Edit, select the event’s name, and type a new name.

Or, hold down the Option key, double-click the event’s name, and then type a new name.

Location

Double-click the event, click Edit, delete the location, and enter a new location.

All-day status

Double-click the event, click Edit, and select or deselect the All-day checkbox.

How often it repeats

Double-click the event, click Edit, and choose an option from the Repeat menu.

Calendar it belongs to

Double-click the event, click Edit, and choose a calendar from the Calendar menu.

Alert(s)

Double-click the event, click Edit, and choose an option from the Alert menu(s).

Invitees

Double-click the event, click Edit, and add or remove invitees from the Invitees field.

Attachments

Double-click the event, click Edit, and add or remove files from the Attachments field.

To delete an event, click it, and then press the Delete key. If the event has invitees, click “Delete and Notify.”

If you changed an event with invitees, send the updated event by clicking Send in the event editor.

If your list of invitees includes someone who previously refused the event invitation, to send the updated invitation to the person, click the arrow next to the person’s name in the invitees list, and then choose Invite Again.
