Get a quick calculation

To get a quick calculation, type a mathematical expression into the Spotlight search field.

  1. Click the Spotlight icon (looks like a magnifying glass) in the upper-right corner of your screen.
  2. Type a mathematical expression.

    For example, if you type 956*23.94, the search results include the calculation 956*23.94 = 22886.64.

For a list of abbreviations you can type in the search field to perform calculations, open Calculator and choose Help > Calculator Help.
