This article addresses questions on new courses and exams for the ACMT certification. These courses and exams will be posted on February 25th, 2014.
What is happening to ACMT?
On February 25, 2014, AppleCare is posting a new ACMT curriculum and new ACMT exams. The previous curriculum and exams will be retired at the same time.
Why is this happening?
We are updating our curriculum to match newer Mac products and OS X Mavericks.
I am currently ACMT certified. Does this update affect my existing ACMT certification?
This does not affect existing ACMT certifications. You will continue to be ACMT certified.
I completed one of the current ACMT exams. Will I have to start over?
No. If you completed the 9L0-010 hardware exam or the 9L0-064 Mac OS X Mountain Lion exam, you can satisfy ACMT requirements by taking one of the new exams. If you completed 9L0-010 for hardware, you can take the 9L0-065 OS X Mavericks exam to complete ACMT requirements. If you completed the 9L0-064 OS X Mountain Lion exam, you can complete your requirements by taking the 9L0-011 hardware exam.
I have not completed any ACMT exams as yet. What should I do?
If you need to complete your ACMT certification before February 25, 2014, you should take the available exams now. If you can take the exams after the update you should wait for the new curriculum and exams.
What happens to the old courses and exams on February 25, 2014?
The old courses and exams will no longer be available as of February 25, 2014.
Does this update affect any of my separate Mac or iOS qualifications?
Qualifications for individual products are not affected by this update.
Will the update be in all supported languages?
On February 25, 2014, the ACMT hardware course and the OS X Mavericks courses will be available in all supported languages. The associated Mac Service Certification Exam (9L0-011) and the OS X Mavericks 10.9 Troubleshooting Exam (9L0-065) will also be available in all supported languages.
