Exams for Service Technicians

Summary

Service technicians who troubleshoot and repair Apple products have to be certified as technicians and qualified separately for selected products.  This article describes the current exams for these technicians and provides links to exam registration sites.

Products Affected

Mac OS and Software, Mac desktops, Mac notebooks, iPhone

 ACMT Certification Exams

The current exams for ACMT certification are

  • 9L0-010 for hardware
  • 9L0-064 for Mac OS

Both are required to become an Apple Certified Mac Technician.

Certification Exam Access

ACMT certification exams can be taken at Prometric Testing Centers. You can register for these exams online at www.register.prometric.com

Another way to take exams is as part of an ACMT certification class at an Apple-Authorized Service Training Center.

ACMT Recertification Exams

Yearly recertification exams are required to maintain the ACMT certification.

The current exams for ACMT recertification are

  • 9L0-315 for hardware
  • 9L0-355 for OS X

Recertification Exam Access

Recertification exams can be taken from your own computer. They are hosted by the Prometric PRIME online testing service and are accessible via ibt.prometric.com/apple

Product Qualification Exams

Some Apple products require separate qualification exams. Here are the currently available exams.

  • 9L0-S02 MacBook Pro (Retina, Mid 2012) and MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Early 2013) 
  • 9L0-S03 MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012) and MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Early 2013) 
  • 9L0-S04 iMac (Late 2012 and Early 2013) 
  • 9L0-E04 - iOS Qualification Exam

Product qualification exams are also hosted by the Prometric PRIME online testing service and are accessible via ibt.prometric.com/apple
