iPad: Transferring your cellular data plan to an iPad mini or iPad (3rd generation or later)
This article explains how to transfer an existing iPad cellular data plan to an iPad mini or iPad (3rd generation or later).
To find out how to transfer your existing cellular data plan to another iPad, select your carrier from the list below:
On your new iPad, tap: Settings > Cellular Data > View Account > Transfer Service From Another iPad.
Log in using your AT&T username and password, tap Next, and follow the instructions:
If you use a corporate or post-paid account, please contact AT&T.
Contact your carrier and explain that you need to transfer service to a new iPad.
It may be necessary to tell the new iPad to reprovision the account. To do this, simply tap: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Subscriber Service > Reprovision Account.
If your new iPad does not activate within two minutes, restart your iPad. You need a SIM card to use iPad mini or iPad (3rd generation or later) on Verizon's LTE network. If you need to obtain a SIM Card, please contact Verizon.
