iTunes Store: How to set up a bank card and add money to your account in China

On the App Store in China, you can choose to use a Chinese bank card to add store credit to your App Store account (Apple ID). You can't use store credit to gift items to others, and you can't use store credit you add to your App Store account to purchase items from the Apple Online Store. The following describes how to add money from your bank card.

Set up a bank card and add money on a computer

Follow these steps to use an existing iTunes Store account:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > View Account.
  3. Enter your password and click View Account.
  4. Click Edit to the right of Payment Type.
  5. Select the bank card logo and enter your billing address, then click Continue.
  6. Select the amount you want to transfer into your iTunes Store account.
  7. Select the bank card you want to transfer the funds from, then click Continue.
  8. Click Done. Your web browser will open your bank card’s website.
    Note
    : Some bank websites aren't compatible with all browsers; you may need to copy and paste the URL for the bank card’s website into a different browser.
  9. Complete the instructions on the bank card’s website to complete the transfer.

Follow these steps to use a new iTunes Store account:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > Create Account.
  3. Click Continue.
  4. Review the Terms and Conditions, select the option to agree, and click Agree.
  5. Fill out the form and click Continue.
  6. Click the Bank Card logo and enter your billing address.
  7. Click Create Apple ID. A verification email will be sent to the email address you provided.
  8. Click the Verify link in the email. If you don't receive the email, click the Resend Verification Email link in the iTunes Store.
  9. After you verify your email address, tap Return to the App Store.
  10. Select the amount you want to add to your account and the bank card you want to transfer the funds from.
  11. Click Continue.
  12. Click Done. Your web browser will open your bank card’s website.

  13. Complete the instructions on the bank card’s website to complete the transfer.

Set up a bank card and add money on an iOS device

Follow these steps to use an existing iTunes Store account:

  1. Tap App Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Featured page and tap your Apple ID.
  3. Tap View Apple ID.
  4. Enter your Apple ID password.
  5. In the Edit section, tap Add Money.
  6. Tap the amount you want to transfer to your iTunes Store account.
  7. Tap the bank card you want to use to transfer the funds, then tap Next.
    Note
    : Only some banks allow you to add money using an iOS device. If your bank isn't in the list of selectable banks, you will need to add money from a computer.
  8. Tap the authorization method you want to use:
    • Mobile website
    • Mobile phone (if you choose mobile phone, you need to make sure that your bank card is set up for mobile phone authorization)
  9. Enter your payment information and Chinese Resident ID card details and tap Next.
  10. After they're authorized, the funds will transfer to your iTunes Store account.

Follow these steps to use a new iTunes Store account:

  1. Tap App Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Featured page and tap Sign In.
  3. Tap Create Apple ID.
  4. Confirm that China is selected and tap Next.
  5. Review the Terms and Conditions and tap Agree. 
  6. Fill out the form to create your Apple ID.
  7. Tap Bank Card for your payment type, enter your billing address, and tap Next. A verification email will be sent to the email address you provided.
  8. Click the Verify link in the email.
  9. Enter your Apple ID and password and tap Verify Apple ID.
  10. Tap Return to the App Store.
  11. Tap the amount you want to transfer to your iTunes Store account.
  12. Tap the bank card you want to use to transfer the funds and tap Next.
  13. Tap the authorization method you want to use:
    • Mobile website
    • Mobile phone (if you choose mobile phone, you need to make sure that your bank card has been set up for mobile phone authorization)
  14. After they're authorized, the funds will transfer to your iTunes Store account.

View your bank orders

View bank orders on a computer:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > View Account.
  3. Click View Bank Orders. Bank orders from the past 30 days will appear.

View bank orders on an iOS device:

  1. Tap App Store.
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the Featured page and tap your Apple ID.
  3. Tap View Apple ID.
  4. Tap View Bank Orders.

Your bank orders can have the following statuses:

  • Complete: The order has successfully completed, and your money is available for the designated Apple ID.
  • Pending: The order is pending. You will be notified when the order is complete. Orders may take up to 10 days to process.
  • Bank Error: The order wasn't completed due to a bank error. You will receive a bank order number as a reference. Please contact your bank for further assistance.
