On a Mac

Follow these steps to save files from your iDisk to your Mac:

  1. Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu. Click MobileMe and be sure you are signed in to MobileMe.
  2. Click the iDisk icon in the sidebar of your Finder window:
  3. From the iDisk window, drag and drop the files and folders you want to keep to your desktop or a local folder on your Mac. For larger files, you may see a progress bar indicating download progress.
  4. Check all of your folders on your iDisk for important files including the Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Public folders as these are places where important files and folders are commonly stored. If they have files you want to keep, download these folders.

On a Windows PC

From a web browser, follow these steps to save files from your iDisk to your Windows PC:

  1. Go to me.com/idisk in a web browser and sign in.
  2. Downloading folders. One of the easiest ways to download many files at once is to download an entire folder.
    • To download a folder and its contents, select the folder and then click the download button in the top toolbar:
       
    • Wait for the folder to be zipped, then click Download in the dialog box.

    • Check all of your folders on your iDisk for important files including the Documents, Movies, Music, Pictures, and Public folders as these are places where important files and folders are commonly stored. If they have files you want to keep, download these folders.
  3. Downloading individual files. You can download specific files from either the main iDisk view, or from a folder view.
    • To download a file you want to keep, select the file and then click the Download button underneath the file icon. You can save the file on your desktop or to a local folder on your PC.
    • To download a document from a folder, select the folder, and then select the file and download it.
    • To download multiple files, use Shift-click to select multiple adjacent files, or Control-click to select multiple non-adjacent files. After your files are selected, click the download button in the top toolbar.
