iAd Producer: Configuring firewall for use with simulator

The simulator in iAd Producer is a network-based application. If your computer's Application Firewall is not active, you do not need to configure it. If your firewall is active, you should configure it to allow network traffic.

To configure the Application Firewall in Mac OS X v10.6 and later:

  1. From the Apple () menu, choose System Preferences.

  2. Click Security.

  3. Click the Firewall tab.

  4. Click the lock in the lower-left corner to unlock the pane.

  5. Enter your administrator username and password.

  6. Click Advanced to customize the firewall configuration.

  7. Deselect "Block all incoming connections."

  8. Select "Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections."

  9. Click OK.

  10. Restart iAd Producer.

If you do not want to allow all signed applications access to the network, you can grant an exception for iAd Producer only. To do this in Mac OS X v10.6 and later:

  7. Deselect "Automatically allow signed software to receive incoming connections."

  8. Click the plus sign to add an exception.

  9. From the file browser, choose iAd Producer.

  10. Click Add.

  11. Click OK.

  12. Restart iAd Producer.
