  6. Do I need a previous version of Logic installed on the computer I'm installing the Logic Studio (2009) upgrade on?

    The previous version you're upgrading from does not need to be installed when installing the Logic Studio (2009) upgrade. All that is required is the previous version's serial number, or the XSKey if upgrading from Logic Pro, Logic Gold, or Logic Audio. (The XSKey plugs into a USB port and was used to authorize Logic Pro and Gold versions 5, 6, 7, and Logic Audio 5.)

    The Logic Studio license agreement states that you are granted a limited non-exclusive license to install and use one copy of the Apple Software on one Apple-branded desktop computer and one Apple-branded portable computer so long as both computers are owned and used by you. You may not make the Apple Software available over a network where it could be used by multiple computers at the same time.
