iOS 4: About over-the-air carrier settings updates

When a carrier settings update is available, iPhone displays a notification asking if you'd like to install the update. Tapping Update installs it. Tapping Not Now delays installation. You can manually install the update, or wait to be prompted again (sometime within the next two weeks).

To manually install a carrier settings update, use one of these methods:

• Tap Settings > General > About. The prompt will display again.
• Connect your iPhone to iTunes to download and install the update using iTunes. See this article for more information.

Note: Occasionally a carrier may release a mandatory update. Such an update will display only an OK button instead of an Update button, to let you know the update was downloaded and installed.
