Mac OS X Server v10.5, 10.6: iChat Jabber authentication does not work with short names that contain uppercase characters

Summary

With Mac OS X v10.5 or 10.6's iChat Jabber service, authentication does not work if the client's short name contains uppercase characters, such as "TomClark".

Products Affected

Mac OS X Server 10.5, Mac OS X Server 10.6

Use account short names that contain only lowercase characters, such as "tomclark".

A second, lowercase short name can be added to an account for iChat Jabber authentication.

Alternatively, the account short name itself could be changed to lowercase.
