Mac OS X Server v10.6: For FTP access, ensure that FTP is enabled for the share point that includes the user's Home folder
Summary
In Mac OS X Server v10.6, enable FTP access for the share point that houses the home directories, if you want to allow users to access their home directory via FTP.
If FTP is not enabled for the share point that houses the Users folder, but is enabled on the server, users will be able to access / , but will not have access to their home directory.

- Open Server Admin.
- Go to the Share Points section.
- Select the Users share point.
- Click the "Protocol Options" button.
- Click the FTP section
- Enable "Share this item using FTP".
- Click OK, and then save.
