iPhone and iPod touch: Syncing older calendar events

Summary

If you use iTunes to sync calendars with your iPhone or iPod touch, iTunes will automatically update your calendars whenever you connect it to the computer. You can reduce the number of calendar events from the computer to the device by enabling the "Do not sync events older than 30 days" option. However, this preference only applies to syncing events from the computer to the device and not the other way around.

Products Affected

iPhone, iPod touch, iTunes 8 for Mac, iTunes 8 for Windows

For example, if "Do not sync events older than 30 days" in iTunes is selected, events older than 30 days created on the computer will not be synced to the iPhone or iPod touch. However, events created on the device over 30 days ago will be synced from the device to the computer.
