Summary

Learn how to configure MacBook Pro computers with dual graphics processors for better graphics performance with Final Cut Studio.

Products Affected

Final Cut Studio 2

Some MacBook Pro computers offer two graphics processing units: an integrated NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, which offers better battery life, and a discrete NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT, which offers higher graphics performance. By default, the MacBook Pro uses the 9400M. However, you may see better results using the higher performance 9600M GT option with Final Cut Studio. Here's how to switch to it:

  1. Open System Preferences from the Dock or Apple () menu.
  2. From the View menu, choose Energy Saver.
  3. In the upper-left corner, select the "Higher performance" option under Graphics.
  4. Log out and then log back in.
