Apple Cinema and Thunderbolt Displays: How to find the serial number

Learn how to find the serial number of your Apple Cinema or Thunderbolt Display.

You can find your serial number in several places:

  • On the base of the display
  • On the hinge mechanism
  • On the original product packaging
  • On the original receipt (or invoice)

On the base of the display

The serial number with bar codes is on a label under the foot of the display. To view the serial number, hold the sides of the display and gently lay the display face down on a soft, clean towel or cloth.

On the hinge mechanism

To view the serial number on the hinge mechanism, you should remove the stand. You might want to check this serial number if the original stand was removed to install the optional VESA mount adapter.

On the original product packaging

If you still have the original packaging for your display, you can find the serial number on the barcode label that is affixed to the packaging.

On the original receipt (or invoice)

Some retailers may include the serial number of your display on the receipt.
