How to clean Apple products

Cleaning the display

  • Disconnect the power cord and verify that the product is turned off.
  • Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth, or the cleaning cloth that was provided, to wipe dust from the screen.
  • If needed, lightly dampen the cloth with water only and wipe the screen.
  • Do not spray liquid directly on the screen.

Cleaning the enclosure

  • Shut down the product and disconnect all cables.
  • Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to clean the exterior. Avoid getting moisture in any openings.
  • Do not spray liquid directly onto the product.
  • Do not use aerosol sprays, solvents, or abrasives that might damage the finish.

Warning: Don't clean the screen with a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner intended for use with a screen or display. Never spray cleaner directly on the screen. It may drip inside the display and cause damage.
