Final Cut Server 1.1.1: System requirements and installation steps

Before installing Final Cut Server 1.1.1
Before you upgrade your Final Cut Server system, you or the Final Cut Server administrator should create a backup of the existing Final Cut Server catalog.

Important:  The backup feature only backs up the Final Cut Server catalog; it does not back up any assets or projects stored on your devices.  For more information see Chapter 7 of the Final Cut Server Setup and Administration Guide, "Backing Up Final Cut Server.  If you are a user with administrator privileges, you can find the Final Cut Server Setup and Administration Guide while logged in to the Final Cut Server client by clicking the help menu icon  and choosing Final Cut Server Setup and Administration Guide.  The Final Cut Server Setup and Administration Guide is also available as a link under Support Resources on the Final Cut Server Support Web Page.

Follow these steps to update to Final Cut Server 1.1.1

1. Open Software Update by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu.
2. From the list of updates that appears, select the checkboxes for the Mac OS X v10.5.5 and QuickTime 7.5.5 updates. 
3. Click "Install 2 Items" in the lower-right corner of the Software Update window.
4. Your will need to restart your computer after installing these updates. 
5. After your computer restarts, open Software Update again by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu.
6. From the list of updates that appears, select the checkbox for the Pro Applications Update 2008-03.
7. Click "Install 1 Item" in the lower-right corner of the Software Update window.
8. After you have installed the Pro Applications Update 2008-03, Software Update will automatically check for new software. From the list of updates that appears, select the checkbox for Final Cut Server 1.1.1 Update.
9. Click "Install 1 Item" in the lower-right corner of the Software Update window.
