Applying the mount
While the mounts with adhesive backing are designed to be repositioned, moving them more than a few times reduces their tackiness (adhesive quality). For best results, follow these guidelines:
- Make sure the surface is clean and dust free.
- Avoid repositioning the mounts more than two to three times.
Note: The adhesive is strong enough to be used on the curved surfaces of displays.
Removing the mount
In general, the adhesive should not leave any residue behind. Follow these steps to remove any residue that may remain:
- 1. Carefully use your fingernail to remove as much of the adhesive from the surface as possible.
2. Use a damp, soft, lint-free cloth to remove any residue. Avoid getting moisture into any openings on the display or computer surface.
3. If any residue remains, you can use "Goo Gone," produced by Magic American cleaning products, for translucent surfaces (such as the desktop displays).
4. Apply a small amount of Goo Gone to a clean, soft, lint-free cloth. If too much cleaning solution is used, it may migrate into any gaps in the case plastics.
5. Gently rub the lint-free cloth over the areas that have the adhesive residue until all of the adhesive has been removed.
6. Gently polish the affected areas with a clean, soft, lint-free cloth to remove any remaining cleaning solution residue.
Warning: Using materials other than your hand or a soft, lint-free cloth could scratch or discolor the surface.
