Mac OS X Server: Automounted share points remain mounted after logout
Summary
When a user logs out of a client computer with automounted share points, those share points remain mounted. This includes Mac OS X managed clients, for example.
Products Affected
Mac OS X Server
You can configure client computers to automount certain share points, such as user home directories.
Automounted share points are prepared during startup but are not mounted until the first time they're accessed. This access may happen when browsing to the share point in the Finder, when an application uses files stored there, and so forth. In the case of a network home directory, the share point is accessed when the user logs in.
A home directory share point is mounted by the user's account, but any other automounted share points will be mounted as the Guest user. Share points mounted by Guest remain mounted until the client computer is restarted or the connections are ended by the Server Status application.
