Products Affected

iMac (Flat Panel)

The iMac (Flat Panel) computer has a "mini-VGA" monitor port located on the back of the computer. This port allows you to use the iMac's video mirroring feature with a compatible VGA monitor. An Apple VGA Display Adapter, part M8639G/A (available separately), is required to plug in the monitor cable.

Important: The Apple VGA Display Adapter (M8639G/A) should not be confused with the Apple Video Adapter (M8734G/A). The Apple Video Adapter (M8734G/A) is not compatible with the iMac computer's mini-VGA monitor port.

You can use any VGA monitor that is compatible with these resolutions and frequencies:

Resolution in pixels Refresh Rate
640 by 480 60 Hz
800 by 600 75 Hz
1024 by 768 75 Hz
