Apple TV: Remote causes LED to flash amber

Using a different remote from your paired remote may cause Apple TV's LED (light) to flash amber.

Whether or not you have the correct remote, the simplest way to resolve this is to unpair and then pair the remote using these steps:

  1. Unpair the remote by holding down the Menu and Previous/Rewind buttons for 6 seconds (this could be done using any Apple remote).

     
  2. Then pair the remote by simultaneously holding down the Menu and Next/Fast-Forward buttons for 6 seconds.

When you have successfully paired your remote, Apple TV displays a chainlink symbol above a picture of a remote (  ).
