Archived - Mac OS X Server version 10.5 Leopard: Creating a drop box in the Public folder

In Mac OS X Server version 10.5 Leopard, guest users can be granted read-only access to share points via Server Preferences. Administrators can also create a write-only drop box inside the Public folder for guest usage. To enable write access for guests, use these steps:

  1. In the Mac OS X Server version 10.5 Leopard Finder, locate the Public Folder in Shared Items.
  2. Create a folder inside the Public folder.
  3. From the Finder's File menu choose Get Info for the new folder.
  4. In the Info window, under Sharing & Permissions, change "Everyone" to the Write Only.
