Sending iTunes Gifts

In the iTunes Store, you can gift a dollar amount or gift specific music, movies, TV shows, or apps from your iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, Mac, or PC. Follow these steps to send a gift from the iTunes Store:

iOS

Gift an amount

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the main page of the iTunes store or App store app.
  2. Tap Send Gift.

  3. Sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID.

    4. Apple ID Sign In

  4. Type in the email address for the person you wish to send the iTunes Gift.

    5. Enter Details

  5. Tap an amount you’d like to gift, or type in another amount.
  6. If you like, add a message.
  7. Pick the day you want the gift to be sent.
  8. Select a theme for your gift.

  9. Tap Buy, and then tap Buy Gift to confirm.

Gift an item

  1. Find an item in the App store or iTunes store that you wish to gift.
  2. Tap the Share icon.

    3. Tap Share

  3. Tap the Gift icon.

    4. Tap Gift

  4. Sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID.

  5. Type in the email address for the person you wish to send the iTunes Gift.

    6. Enter Details

  6. If you like, add a message.
  7. Pick the day you want the gift to be sent.
  8. Select a theme for your gift.

    9. Select Theme

  9. Tap Buy, and then tap Buy Gift to confirm.

Mac or PC

Gift an amount

  1. Go to the iTunes Store in iTunes 11.
  2. Sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID.
  3. Click on Send iTunes Gift under Quick Links.

  4. Type in the email address for the person you want to send the iTunes Gift. Click an amount you’d like to gift or type in another amount. If you like, add a message. Pick the day you want the gift to be sent and click Next.

Gift an item

  1. Sign in to the iTunes Store with your Apple ID.
  2. Find an item in the App store or iTunes store that you want to gift.
  3. Click the arrow to the right of the price and select Gift This.

  4. Type in the email address for the person you want to send the iTunes Gift. If you like, add a message. Pick the day you want the gift to be sent and click Next.

Additional Information

Note: When purchasing an iTunes Gift, a valid credit card must be on file; you cannot purchase an iTunes Gift with store credit. Purchased gifts cannot be redeemed outside of the country of purchase. For example, an iTunes Gift purchased in France cannot be redeemed on an iTunes Store outside of France. You can contact Apple Support to cancel an iTunes Gift up to two days before scheduled delivery.
