Summary

In Microsoft Windows, MobileMe syncing activity is not actively logged (it is actively logged in Mac OS X).  However, you can use the Windows Command Prompt to monitor sync activity (for example, for troubleshooting purposes).

Products Affected

MobileMe Sync

  1. Configure the MobileMe Preferences Control panel to sync with your MobileMe account.
  2. Open the Windows Command Prompt:

    • Windows Vista: See this Microsoft article
    • Windows XP: Click Start, then choose Run. Type "cmd". Click OK.

  3. In the command window, enter one of the following commands, depending on which version of Windows you are using:

    • If you are using the 32 bit version of Windows Vista or Windows XP type or paste:
      cd "\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin"

    • If you are using the 64 bit version of Windows Vista, type or paste:
      cd "\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin"

  4. Press Return/Enter.
  5. In the command window, type or paste:

    dotmacsyncclient.exe sync

  6. Press Return/Enter.

A sync with MobileMe will start, and you should see the basic logging information for that sync session appear in the Command Prompt window.
