PDF files open in your Web browser instead of downloading to your hard disk

1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
2. From the View menu, choose QuickTime.
3. Click the Plug-In tab.
4. Click MIME settings.
5. Click the disclosure triangle next to Images - Still image files.
6. Click the checkbox by PDF Image to deselect it.
7. Click OK.

Here is a workaround to save a file to disk if the PDF document opens in the browser window:

1. Control-click in the browser window.
2. From the pop-up menu, choose Save as Source.
3. Click Save in the Save window.

Tip

: You may change the filename and download destination in the Save window.
