PowerBook G4 (12-inch): Serial Number Location

The PowerBook G4 (12-inch) and PowerBook G4 (12-inch DVI) computer's configuration information, serial number, and Ethernet ID are all located on a label on the side of the battery bay. To see the label, shut the computer down, unplug it from the AC adapter, and remove the battery from the computer. See Figure 1.

The serial number can also be found in the About This Mac window:

1. Choose Apple menu > About This Mac.
2. Double-clicking the Mac OS X version number.
