Will my QuickTime 7 Pro key work with QuickTime X?

Will my QuickTime 6 Pro key work with QuickTime 7?
Because QuickTime 7 includes royalty-bearing technologies, a new QuickTime Pro key is required to unlock Pro functionality in QuickTime 7. If your key no longer works, visit the Apple Online Store to purchase a new one.

I want to use my QuickTime 6 Pro key but I've installed QuickTime 7 on my Mac OS X v10.3 Panther or Windows computer. What do I do?
You'll need to use an older version of QuickTime. Previous versions of QuickTime are available to download from our QuickTime Support site.

Will a QuickTime Pro key for Windows work on a Mac, and vice versa?
No. QuickTime Pro keys are platform-specific. Macintosh keys will work on all supported Mac operating systems. Windows keys will work on all supported Windows platforms.

Is QuickTime 6.x supported with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger?
Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger includes QuickTime 7. Earlier versions of QuickTime and QuickTime Pro are not supported with Mac OS X 10.4.

I've lost my QuickTime Pro key. What should I do?
If you are a past purchaser of a QuickTime Pro key, you can download the new software by visiting the Apple Online Store and clicking Account in the store menu. Click Downloadable Software Purchases, enter your Apple ID and password, and then you will see your QuickTime Pro key listed.
