MobileMe: How to change your email password
Summary
The password you use for your MobileMe email is the same as the password for your MobileMe account (and Apple ID).
If you would like to change your password, follow the steps below.

To set a new password:
- Log in to http://www.me.com/account.
- Click Password Settings.
- Enter your current password and then type a new password in the new password fields.
- Click Save to save your changes.
If you do not remember your current password, you can reset your password by going to http://iforgot.apple.com and following the instructions.
Update your MobileMe preferences
After changing your password, you will need to update some MobileMe preferences on your Mac or PC.
Mac OS X
- From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
- From the View menu, choose MobileMe.
- Type your new password and click Sign In.
Windows-based PC
- Click the Start menu and choose Control Panel.
- Open MobileMe.
- Type in your new password and click Sign In.
Update your email application
After changing your password, you should be prompted by your email application to enter your new password when you check for mail. If you are not prompted, see this article if you use Mac OS X Mail. If you are using another email application, please refer to the application's built-in documentation for information about changing your email password setting.
