When will .Mac HomePage be discontinued?
The HomePage web application will go offline on July 7, 2009. After that date, you will be unable to create new pages or edit pages you have already published.

Can friends and family still view my published pages after July 7, 2009?
Yes, any sites you have created with HomePage will remain viewable at their existing web address unless you delete them, for as long as you are an active MobileMe member.

What should I use for creating my own website?
iWeb (iLife ’06 or later version) is recommended, which comes on your Mac, and enables you to create a custom website and publish it directly to MobileMe. iWeb provides Apple-designed templates for creating photo pages, blogs, travel sites, and more. Please read this article for instructions on moving HomePage movies to iWeb.

What should I use for sharing photos and movies?
MobileMe Gallery is recommended to quickly and easily share photos in an online gallery directly from iPhoto (iLife ’08 and iLife ’09 versions), from the web at www.me.com, or directly from your iPhone. You can also share movies on MobileMe Gallery directly from iMovie (iLife ’08 and iLife ’09 versions). Please read these instructions on moving HomePage photos and movies to MobileMe Gallery.

What should I use for sharing documents?
Simply upload a file you want to share to your iDisk. Then, log in to www.me.com/idisk, select the file, and click Share File.

Can I access the content on my pages such as photos and movies after July 7, 2009?
Yes. The HTML files that make up your site can be found in the “Sites” folder on your iDisk. Any pictures or movies you have used for your pages can be found in the iDisk folders where they reside (for example: "Pictures," "Movies," or another folder). You must remain an active MobileMe member to access your iDisk.

Can I delete my published pages?
Yes. Between now and July 7, 2009, you can access the HomePage application and edit or delete any of your pages. Simply log in, select the page you want to remove, and click Delete.

Do I need to do anything before HomePage is discontinued?
If you want to make any changes to your pages, you should do so before July 7, 2009. If you do nothing, your existing pages will remain as they are at their current URL for as long as you are an active MobileMe member. You will still be able to manually delete your pages after July 7, but you will no longer be able to make any changes using the HomePage application.

I published content to homepage.mac.com using my own HTML editor and it's located in the Sites folder of my iDisk.  Do I need to do anything?
No. Any content located in your Sites folder (including published HomePage pages), will remain after July 7, and will still be editable with third party HTML editors. However, if you want to make edits to any pages created with the HomePage application, it is recommended that you do so before July 7. This article will be updated at that time with more information on how to manually edit previously published HomePage pages.

Does this affect any other part of the old mac.com domain, like my email address @mac.com, or any items I have published to a mac.com URL?
No. Email addresses @mac.com and any items published or shared to a mac.com URL are unaffected by this change and will continue working uninterrupted after July 7.
