  • Update to the latest version of iMovie '08 by choosing Software Update from the Apple menu.
  • Connect your Flip camcorder to your computer and open Flip Video Program from the disk image that mounts to your Desktop.  You can download the latest Flip Video Program from the support section of the Pure Digital web site (www.theflip.com)

Run this program and then install the Pure Digital 3ivx MPEG-4 decoder or “codec,” which works with iMovie '08 to open the .AVI files created from the Flip Video camcorders.

  • Import movies using the File menu in iMovie.
    1. In iMovie, choose Import Movies from the File menu.
    2. Locate the Flip Video camcorder through the import window and select the DCIM folder, then select the 100VIDEO folder.  For each clip you have recorded you will find a video file in .AVI format in this folder.
    3. Select the files that you would like to import, select a destination, Event name and Video Size setting.
    4. Click Import.
