Archived - Promise VTrak: Replacement Controller Module configuration script

This article contains a script used to configure replacement Promise RAID Controller Modules.

If a Promise VTrak’s Controller Module is replaced, the replacement Controller Module’s default settings may not offer optimal performance and availability. Additional Information

Once you've created the script, follow the guidelines to import the configuration script.

Note: Importing the script will not affect the Promise VTrak's availability.

Import the configuration script

  1. Connect to the VTrak RAID via the WebPAM PROe administration tool. Later versions of Promise VTrak firmware support Bonjour discovery. If you are unfamiliar with how to locate the Promise RAID on the network, refer to a current version of the Product Manual. If an alert appears in your web browser, see this article.
  2. Authenticate when prompted. If you are not certain what administrator name and password is assigned to the Promise RAID, refer to the Product Manual.
  3. Select Administrative Tools.
  4. Click the Import tab.
  5. Set the Type field to "Configuration Script".
  6. Populate the Local File Name field with the path to the script, or click the Browse button and select the script you saved previously.
  7. Click Submit.
  8. The next page that appears reports if the script was located and if it contains any issues. If there are no alert messages, click Next.
