Resetting iTunes Store warnings

Summary

iTunes may display warnings for a variety of reasons when you are using the iTunes Store. The warning messages often provide a checkbox that, if selected, will prevent iTunes from showing that particular message again.

Products Affected

iTunes 10 for Mac, iTunes 10 for Windows, iTunes 7 for Mac, iTunes 7 for Windows, iTunes 8 for Mac, iTunes 8 for Windows, iTunes 9 for Mac, iTunes 9 for Windows, iTunes Store

If you discover that you have asked iTunes to stop showing a warning message that you realize you do want to see after all, you can reset the warnings. There is no way to reset them individually; you must reset them all at once. To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Open iTunes.
  2. Choose Store > Sign In.
  3. Enter your iTunes Store account name and password and click Sign In.
  4. Choose Store > View My Account.
  5. Click the Reset button.

    Reset Warnings dialog

  6. Click Done.
