No power from batteries

If the iPod Hi-Fi has no sound, no status light, and no playback from a new set of batteries:

  1. Remove iPod and any device attached to the audio input port on the iPod Hi-Fi.
  2. Verify the batteries are not expired.
  3. Verify batteries are installed correctly (check positive (+) and negative (–) terminals are positioned correctly). Note: All six batteries are not inserted the same direction.
  4. Reset the iPod Hi-Fi by removing the AC cord and all six batteries, waiting five seconds, and then connecting power.
  5. If available try different batteries.
  6. If available verify batteries work on another device.
  7. If the issue continues, please schedule a service appointment with either an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.

No power when connected to AC power

If the iPod Hi-Fi has no sound, no status light, and no playback from AC Power:

  1. Remove iPod and any device attached to the audio input port on the iPod Hi-Fi.
  2. Make sure the power cord connectors on both ends are pushed in all the way.
  3. Try a different wall socket or try another device with this wall socket.
  4. If plugged into a power strip, plug directly into the wall.
  5. Reset the iPod Hi-Fi by removing the AC cord and all six batteries, waiting five seconds, and then connecting power.
  6. If the issue continues, and you feel the issue may relate to the power cord, you can order a replacement. If you have already replaced the cord, please schedule a service appointment with either an Apple Retail Store or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
