Summary

Your workout history can be uploaded from your iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation) to nikeplus.com. When you connect an iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation) with new workout data on it, iTunes 6.0.5 or later will either automatically upload the workout history or will prompt you to upload the workout history to nikeplus.com.

If you cannot upload your workout history, check this document for some troubleshooting steps.

Products Affected

iPod nano, Nike + iPod Sport Kit

Requirements

Verify each of the following. If any of the following conditions are not met, you may not be able to upload your workout history:

  • Update to iTunes 7 or later, connect your iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation) and verify that it has the latest software update by clicking on its icon under DEVICES in the sidebar in iTunes.
  • Configure your web browser to accept cookies from nike.com or nikeplus.com. See this document for more information.
  • Verify that Flash Player 7 (or later) is installed on your computer.
  • Connect to and view a public web page, like www.nike.com or www.apple.com.
  • Verify you can download the free Single of the Week from the iTunes Store.

If you confirmed the above requirements and still cannot upload your workout data:

  1. Verify that your iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation) has workout data on it (Choose Nike+iPod > Totals. If you see "# of workouts" and a number greater than zero, there is workout history to be uploaded. If you see "# of workouts 0", try creating a new workout. If the # of workouts is greater than 0, try creating a new workout as there may be no new workouts that need to be uploaded.
  2. Connect iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation) to iTunes. If you are not asked to upload your workout data or you are not asked if you would like to view your uploaded workout data, verify that you can see the Nike + iPod tab when you click on the iPod icon under DEVICES in the sidebar in iTunes, and that you can see a valid workout summary. If you can view other iPod settings but not the Nike + iPod preference, you should quit and reopen iTunes.
  3. There may be issues with the nikeplus.com web site. To isolate, try restarting your computer and verify again that you have a valid internet connection. If the issue persists, try again in 24 hours.
  4. It may be possible that the issue is with your iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation). Consult the 5Rs and be advised that a restore will erase any workout history from your iPod nano or iPod nano (Second Generation) that has not yet been uploaded to nikeplus.com. See "Nike + iPod: Use iTunes to upload workout data before restoring iPod" for more information.
