Nike + iPod: Using multiple Nike + iPod sensors with your iPod nano, iPod touch (2nd generation), or iPhone 3GS
Summary
You can use your iPod nano and Nike + iPod Receiver or your iPod touch (2nd generation)/iPhone 3GS1 with more than one Nike + iPod Sensor. However, each time you introduce a new sensor, you must link that sensor to your iPod nano and receiver or your iPod touch (2nd generation) or iPhone 3GS.
Products Affected
iPod nano (2nd generation), iPod nano, Nike + iPod Sport Kit, iPod nano (3rd generation), iPhone 3GS, iPod nano (4th generation), iPod touch (2nd generation)
Linking a new sensor to your iPod nano
- Connect the receiver2 to an iPod nano.
- Put on the shoes with the new sensor and make sure there is no other sensor nearby. (You may have to walk around to activate the new sensor so your receiver can detect it.)
- On the iPod nano, choose Nike+iPod > Settings > Sensor > Link and follow the onscreen instructions.
- Once your iPod nano links to your sensor, a message appears noting that your "iPod has found the new sensor".
Linking a new sensor to your iPod touch (2nd generation) or iPhone 3GS
Note: Your iPod touch (2nd generation) and iPhone 3GS have an internal receiver so you do not need an external reciever to link to your sensor.
- Tap Settings on the Home screen.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page and tap the Nike + iPod option.
- Put on the shoes with the new sensor, and make sure there is no other sensor nearby.
- Enable the Nike + iPod feature by moving the slider to the ON position and then tap the Sensor option. Allow 5-10 seconds for your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS to link to your sensor. (You may have to walk around to activate the new sensor so your iPod or iPhone's internal receiver can detect it.)
- If your iPod or iPhone has previously been linked to another sensor, you should see the following message:

- Tap the Link New option.
- When prompted, walk around in order to link the sensor to your iPod touch or iPhone 3GS.

Notes
- The iPod touch (2nd generation) and iPhone 3GS have an internal receiver; no externally attached receiver is required.
- If you connect the receiver to a different iPod and use it with the same sensor, the receiver remembers your settings. You don’t need to relink or recalibrate.
