The serial number for all models of iPod shuffle is located on the device itself, however the serial number can also be obtained using the methods described in support document HT1459.
The serial number for iPod shuffle (3rd generation) is physically located on the back of the iPod underneath the clip in the area closest to the bottom of the device.
The serial number for iPod shuffle (2nd generation) is physically located on the inside edge of the clip on the back of the iPod and requires the clip to be opened to view the serial number. This is where to find it:
The iPod shuffle serial number is located on the back of the device (the side with the Apple logo) along the bottom right side. This is where to find it:
