Archived - How to restore your Apple software (Mac OS X v10.4 or earlier)

Learn how to restore your Apple software using the Restore disc(s) that came with your computer. This article applies to Mac OS X v10.4 and earlier.

  • For computers that came with Mac OS X v10.3.7 or 10.4.x and include two Software Restore DVDs (Mac OS X Install Disc 1, Mac OS X Install Disc 2), see this document.
     
  • For computers that came with Mac OS X v10.3.4 to 10.3.7, and include three software Restore discs (Install Disc 1, Install Disc 2, and "Additional Software and Apple Hardware Test"), see this document.

  • If your computer came with Mac OS X v10.2.x or 10.3.3 and multiple Restore discs, see this document.
