Redeeming an iTunes Digital Copy

Some DVD and Blu-ray titles feature iTunes Digital Copy. With iTunes Digital Copy, you get a digital version of your movie in addition to the DVD or Blu-ray version.

You can redeem your iTunes Digital Copy by following the instructions that came with your DVD or Blu-ray disc. If your disc doesn't have instructions, follow these steps.

  • Some iTunes Digital Copy titles just include a content code. You can redeem content codes one time in the iTunes Store or on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
  • Other titles include a Digital Copy disc and a content code. You'll need to insert the Digital Copy disc into your computer's CD/DVD drive before you can redeem your Digital Copy code. You can redeem codes multiple times if you're using the Apple ID you used for the original redemption.

Additional Information

iTunes Digital Copies aren't available in every country.

You must use a Digital Copy code in the iTunes Store country where the packaging says it will work. For example, you'll need a U.S. iTunes Store Apple ID to use a code from a U.S. DVD, and you'll need an Australian iTunes Store Apple ID to use a code from an Australian DVD.

You can always download your iTunes Digital Copy again by following these steps.
