Summary

Some digital cameras allow you to specify the protocol for importing photos, such as Mass Storage, Type 4 (sometimes referred to as "Normal"), or PTP. If your camera allows you to configure this option, the setting may appear in your camera's Setup mode. Consult your camera manual to see if it offers this option.

Products Affected

iPod photo, iPod with color display, iPod (5th generation)

The Photo Import feature for iPod photo, iPod with color display, and iPod (5th generation) will only import the items that your camera has stored inside the DCIM folder on its media card. Some cameras store movies and sound recordings outside the DCIM folder. If you use the Mass Storage protocol, these items will not be imported. With most cameras, if you use the PTP protocol, movies and sounds should be imported with your photos.
