Nike + iPod: About the sensor battery
Summary
The Nike + iPod Sensor's battery is not replaceable or rechargeable and has a life of over a thousand active hours. The sensor has a sophisticated built-in power-management system, allowing the sensor to consume power only when active (that is, when it senses motion).

iPod nano (2nd generation), iPod nano, Nike + iPod Sport Kit, iPod nano (3rd generation), iPhone 3GS, iPod nano (4th generation), iPod touch (2nd generation)
When the sensor has approximately thirty hours of active use remaining, it will send a low-battery signal to your iPod nano, iPod touch, or iPhone 3GS, indicating that you should replace the sensor. Your iPod or iPhone will notify you of your sensor's low-battery status right before and after each workout you initiate.
The following are examples of low-battery indicators on some of the different generations of iPods and iPhone 3GS:

You will also be notified at the bottom of your Workout Summary screen with the following text: "Sensor - Battery Low": |
