Pages: How to delete a page

Pages includes built-in templates that allow you to easily create professional-looking documents. But what do you do when you decide that you don't want to use a particular page that you've added? With many of the templates, deleting a page isn't as easy as simply deleting the text, since other elements on the page will still be left behind.

But, there's a way to do this.

This article has been archived and is no longer updated by Apple.

If you're using Pages 1.0, first update to version 1.0.1 or later using Software Update. To delete a page in Pages 1.0.1 or later:

  1. Scroll to the page that you want to remove and click to select text or graphic element on that page.
  2. From the Edit menu, choose Delete Page (if you haven't updated to version 1.0.1, you won't see this option).
  3. A dialog appears, asking if you're sure that you want to delete the page. Confirm that the page is the one you wish to delete, then click Delete to get rid of it.

Tip: Pages are actually sections with section breaks. A section can be more than one page long and in step 3 above it may indicate you are deleting multiple pages (one section that covers 2 or more pages).
