Viewing album artwork on iPod

Did you know that any iPod models with a color display (including iPod nano, iPod nano (Second Generation), Fifth Generation iPod, and iPod photo) can show the album artwork for the song that's playing?.

To enjoy this feature, just make sure the "Display album artwork on your iPod" preference is selected in iTunes before you update your iPod.

For iTunes 7 or later

  1. Select your iPod under the Devices section in the iTunes Source pane.
  2. Select the Music tab of the iPod settings. The iPod settings are displayed to the right in the main iTunes window.
  3. Select the "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
  4. Click Apply to save the changes. The iPod begins to update as soon as Apply is clicked.

For iTunes 6.0.5 or earlier

  1. Select your iPod in iTunes.
  2. From the iTunes menu, choose Preferences (Windows: From the Edit menu, choose Preferences).
  3. Click the iPod icon to select the iPod preference pane.
  4. Select the "Display album artwork on your iPod" checkbox.
  5. Click OK to close the Preferences.

To display artwork, press the Center (Select) button while a song is playing to rotate through the rating and artwork screens.

Note: This checkbox only appears in the iTunes when a photo capable iPod is selected. De-selecting this option does not remove artwork from the music files in your library or on the iPod. The latest version of iTunes can be downloaded from:
